It is undoubtedly one of the important sources of knowledge. However, it is also a source of a bundle of misinformation. Moreover, the internet offers bits and pieces of information. A teacher can take this information, transform it in a coherent piece, and teach it in a way that the student can understand properly. Thus, Internet and technology can complement the endeavor of knowledge-seekers but can never take over the role of a teacher.
